Sandcarved doors usually require very little maintenance. Periodic cleaning with a soft brush (to remove dirt and cobwebs) and a mild cleaner (no abrasives, please) is usually all that is required. Doors that receive direct sunlight will be more vulnerable to the breakdown of their finish and should be monitored for signs of finish breakdown. Extreme locations (those that receive full sunlight for more than 4 hours a day) will need to be maintained with periodic re-coats to maintain protection of your door. We will discuss with you, early in the ordering process, what demands will be put on your door and design both the door and the finish that will be best suited to the environment that it will be subjected to.
